Public Speaking Instructor to Salsa Dance Instructor? Josh applies his knowledge and teaching skills to salsa instruction.  He knows HOW TO teach.  His approach and style has earned him a reputation as a great instructor of Salsa and eloquent bilingual speaker at corporate events.    His instruction was welcomed by the Sprint World Meeting when he was hired to instruct and teach Sprint leaders from all over the world.  He is adept is various styles of salsa dancing including, On1, Mambo and Casino Rueda.  Combined with his entertaining style and authentic bilingual presentation, he has earned the reputation of Kansas City's Salsa Instructor of Instructors.  To put it simply, he can teach anyone to dance.

Sounds like this guy is really good at teaching - but can he dance? The latin rhythms of the congas and timbales can never be escaped by one that grew up playing the alto saxophone in a latin jazz ensemble in a small high school in NYC. “The rhythms were always around me in the Puerto Rican neighborhood in NYC. Everywhere I went, Salsa was always playing. And although I began dancing to Savoy Lindy, Jitterbug and Jive, the attraction of Salsa was inevitable."  He trained at various schools in NYC, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Illinois, San Francisco, Wisconsin and Los Angeles.

In 2002, he put his skills to the test at the World Salsa Championships where he finished in the Quarterfinals with Kate Burkhardt.   Teaching is his opportunity to empower others and to encourage all participants to express themselves without the fear of looking bad or being criticized.  Since his arrival in Kansas City in May 2002, he has taught for major corporations in Kansas City including HNTB, Cerner, Sprint Corporation and has introduced thousands of people to salsa dancing.    “I enjoy it when I am teaching and when I am dancing. I cannot choose between them!” By Leah Peterson
